Train-the-Trainer Course

We deliver this course to teach your staff to set up and manage your OJT program, select employees to become OJT trainers, and then train them in the OJT Trainer Course.

Overview

This course is five days long.

  •  The first four days consist of the content of the OJT Trainer Course.  During this time, your Trainer-Trainers learn the skills they will be teaching to others.

  •  Also, during these four days, the Trainer-Trainers learn how to teach the OJT Trainer Course they are participating in and learning.

  • And, they learn to use the Instructor Selection Test ® to identify those employees with the best potential to become effective trainers.

  • On the fifth day, they learn to set up and manage your OJT program, certify the OJT trainers as they achieve competence on the job, and promote the program internally to management and staff.

Who Should Attend

The preferred class size is nine or twelve.  The class normally includes three kinds of participants:

  • This course is primarily intended for those staff trainers who will become certified OJT Trainer-Trainers, and who will use the training materials to teach OJT trainers.

  • Also, training managers who want to learn the content in order to manage the OJT system most effectively.

  • And, selected subject-matter experts who will learn to become OJT trainers. They are included in order to get the preferred class size.  These participants do not stay for the fifth day activities which involve learning how to teach the OJT Trainer Course, setting up and managing the OJT program.

Course Schedule

  • The unshaded portion in the schedule shown below is a condensed version of the OJT Trainer Course, and is attended by all participants.

  • The shaded portion is the train-the-trainer component to teach how to teach the OJT Trainer Course, and to set up and manage an OJT program.  It is attended by Trainer-Trainers and managers.
