The Single-Course Workshop will prepare a group of your staff to teach the same course from the same course materials. Because only those instructional skills necessary to teach that course are practiced, it’s the most efficient course of its kind. The Instructor Skills Workshop is customized to teach a variety of instructional skills needed by your organization. They can include lecturing, demonstrating, group discussions, case studies, role-playing, and lab training. The Instructor-Trainer Workshop will prepare selected participants in the Instructor Skills Workshop to teach your own employees to be classroom instructors. This is probably the only course of its kind in the country. The previous three instructor skills courses use the same Teaching Practice Format. Our focus is on teaching instructors how to cause learning, rather than simple presentation skills. The Instructional Design Workshop will prepare your instructors to perform the specific analysis, design, development and/or evaluation skills needed by your organization. Its basis is instructional system development, customized at the depth and scope needed by your staff. COSTS Our customized courses will cost you less than you would imagine—typically half or less than you might get from other companies. This is true for several reasons. We are a smaller organization and have lower overhead than large instructor-training vendors. Other small vendors that specialize in specific content need to start from scratch to develop instructional skills courses. Their best efforts involve designing and developing content and procedures we already have on the shelf. Because we have developed and taught so many different types of instructional skills courses, we have templates which allow us to design customized courses very economically. There are two components to our costing process. Design of your course and development of the materials. We will propose a fixed price to include all required materials. Delivery of your course. We charge by the day, rather than by the number of participants. Our price is $2,000 per day plus travel and living expenses. The length of the course is dictated by the number of participants and how much practice you choose to include. Why On-Site Delivery Cost – It is less expensive to have one instructor-trainer come to you rather than to send all your instructors off site to another city. Time – Your entire teaching staff can be prepared at one time, rather than sending them to open-enrollment courses over an extended period. Focus – the entire time is spent preparing for those specific instructional skills that are needed by this group of instructors. Customization – the course developed for you will include exactly those instructional skills needed by your staff. Program Support – the course can support your ISO 9000 and/or CTT certification efforts. Morale – the workshop results in participants feeling like a team and being eager to improve the structural aspects of their training programs.
