Show-Tell Training System 

Once you have a task list and/or have identified individual tasks that need to be analyzed, you then need a procedure and format to do the analysis.  This system is the most efficient and effective means to do that.

 Further, immediately after completing a task analysis, you can convert the information into a powerful performance checklist.

 What is it?

The system is a component of the OJT System, and is also available for any other kind of instruction.  It is composed of three things:

1.  Instructions and a job aid which explain how to conduct the task analysis.
2.  A diskette with templates that enable you to enter the task steps and other information into a computer.
3.  Instructions and job aids which explain how to convert the task analysis data on the diskette into performance checklists.

How does it work?

 It uses a show-tell format that enables you to gather all the information you will need at one time. That is, you determine both how a step should be done and what should be known to do it right. The format gathers safety, attitudinal, and procedural information. Decision making information is added in flowcharts, decision trees or decision tables at the same time.

 This procedural information is entered into an MS Word template.

When the analysis is completed and saved, a simple deletion of certain headings and addition of others converts the show-tell information into a performance checklist.

Some users can complete a task analysis and its performance checklist in less than 30 minutes.
